Lord, I Give You My All

Can I have chocolate, sweetie? My
hubby asked our daughter. Ok daddy, you can take a bite, she said in her
high spirits. “Just a bite?” he asked her again. “Yes daddy”.

“Can I have
all of it?”. By now my hubby was pushing her.
Why? And No You can’t daddy. It is
mine! She responded without thinking about it while giving him this firm look
like there is no way you having all
this chocolate

“But I gave it
to you in the first place” my hubby throwing in this last response.
“Yes you did,
daddy but now it is mine and you can only have some of it… if you really want
it, She replied him with her tiny sweet voice”. Not prepared to change her mind
about giving her dad “all of it” she stared at the chocolate and then back at
him. It was decided. She wasn’t giving her dad all of it, period.
Can you relate
with this somehow?
It is funny
how we do the very same thing to God.
Huh! Yes friend.
Bible Reading: Genesis 22: 1-12

When the Lord
asked Abraham to go sacrifice his son, what was he doing?
Quick Thoughts
here…
Place yourself
in his shoes for a minute; no child of your own for donkey years, yet your
servants and animals are reproductive and everywhere around you is
multiplication. And finally, this long awaited miracle arrives and the Lord
says He wants it back.
Would you
gladly say “Ok. Lord you can have Isaac back no problems at all”
I think you are
chuckling too just like I am over here @ Faith’nFriends where I share the rest
of this.

  • Great post, just got back from reading. God help us to always release our all to Him.
    Have a super blessed day!
    Love

  • So true, we are like your daughter in so many areas of our lives, aren't we? Money, time, talents, etc. We owe it all to Him.

I'm like your daughter-I'm not sure I could share chocolate…or coffee, lol!

  • This was a great post, Ifeoma, left you a comment at Faith 'n Friends. Saw you had several. Thanks for sharing your heart.

  • Sometimes we put things we love on the alter of sacrifice, then as we think it over we decide to take it back and not share with God. I loved your illustration – Dad gave it to her in the first place, but she was only willing to give him a small portion. May we give back to God what He has blessed us with. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.
