When You Have to Speak!

It
was a long hot day of shopping and driving. I was exhausted and the only thing
on my mind was food. We headed for the nearest restaurant.  Out of
nowhere, a beautiful lady appeared in line just behind us.

She was so cute,
tall and well bodied you couldn’t miss her.
But
something stood out – she was barely clad!
Maybe
my motherly instincts were kicking in, but I quickly went from admiration to
pity.

I
wished she knew how beautiful she was to be so scantily dressed.

My heart couldn’t bear it anymore. My hubby tried to talk me out
of it. “I see you’re looking for some insults,” he cautioned.
But
hey, we’re gals, aren’t we?  I decided I was going to proceed anyway.
I
patiently waited for my order and hers came through about the same time. As we
approached the exit, I smiled and our conversation went this way.
Did I get punch on the face or
maybe not?

  • Loved this post and appreciate your bold but gentle speaking to this girl who needed a mothers soft instruction. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.

  • I am so glad you didn't get punched in the face 😉 I am so proud of you, though! I had to giggle as I imagined your husband warning you and cringing on the inside praying his wife didn't get that punch!
You made such great points for how we need to approach speaking love in truth. Love this, Ifeoma!
    Blessings and smiles,
    Lori

  • God's timing and his direction was all in order for this young woman. You did the right thing and she accepted your motherly words. May she now make some drastic changes in the way she presents herself to the world and to God. Thank you for sharing with us at Tell me a Story.

  • I so needed being reminded of all you wrote, great post.

  • Can't wait to see how this story ends! Clicking over to read!

  • I couldn't agree more. We need to speak up not only for ourselves but for the voiceless. Stay blessed!
