Hope For The Woman Who Is Tired Of Waiting

I like fruits a lot. Visiting the fruit market gives you a chance to pick out fresh, good looking fruits of your choice. I wonder what it feels like to be a fruit in the fruit market!

It is like waiting to be picked.

Waiting for someone to choose you.

Waiting for someone to approve of you.

Waiting for someone to say you are worthy enough.

Waiting and waiting to leave the basket, the sun and that fruit stand.

That must be awful especially when you’ve got a spot or some softness on you.

Honestly, friend, life can feel that way too.

Bible Reading: James 1:2-8

Whether you are waiting to be married,

or waiting to have a baby,

or for that doctor’s report,

or waiting for a lost child to come home,

or waiting for a loved one to recover,

or waiting to have a job,

or waiting to reunite with your family,

or waiting and waiting, till it’s your turn.

we know how hard it is hanging in there.

For some reason find ourselves in the waiting room of life.

So thankful, dear friend, you and I are not fruits.

No matter how long we pace around the corridors of the waiting room, we don’t get tossed into the trash like them fruits.

God never handles us that way.

He doesn’t choose to bless us because we are good looking or because we have all the right qualities.

He chooses us to make good of all our flaws.

He cares so much for us and He never gives up on His own.

Jesus makes the best use of our weakness.

Truthfully, I don’t enjoy waiting. But I know I am safe in His hands.

I know it can be tiring sometimes waiting, but never give up.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Hebrews 10:35

Don’t leave there until you get your expectation.

There are unexpected joys in the waiting room. We have to open our hearts to see it.

There are moments we have right there in the midst of our wait that we learn to treasure after the wait is done.

We can trust Him while we are waiting.

Are we forgotten, never.

We are made stronger and our confidence should never waiver.

In the waiting room we will gain the strength, the patience and the fortitude that we need to cross over the other side.

Our hearts learn the value of patience, the value of waiting for the perfect timing.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36

Dear waiting woman, you are not forgotten. You are on His agenda. You can rest your heart and trust Him completely with your needs.

  • I don’t like waiting at all…but I’m glad God has a reason for the waiting and a plan after.
He tells us that spending time in the waiting room isn’t for naught…we learn something there.
    Great post!

  • Oh I love this. We are ALWAYS waiting for something, big or small. And you are right, we can learn and lean in to God in the waiting room too. Visiting from #Testimony Tuesday

  • Waiting is definitely not easy but God can certainly use those times and teach us through them.

  • Thank you so much for this lesson. Love it.

  • Ifeoma – I love this, you have done it again…giving such a powerful story to get us thinking about waiting, but also connecting with each of us about a difficult subject – waiting. I don’t want to be like fruit either being tossed into the waste basket. I love your reminder that God has not forgotten us in what may seem like the waiting room of life. Thanks so much for linking up with me at #TuneInThursday and I look forward to having you join me in the weeks ahead!

    • So thankful you stopped over and leaving a beautiful encouragement.
      God Bless Debbie

  • AMEN. Needed this today friend. Preach it. (Your neighbor at #DanceWithJesus which I know God ordained!) 🙂

  • Beautiful example, Ifeoma. “Unexpected joys in the waiting room.” TRUTH! Thank you for this encouragement today! Visiting from Deb’s.

  • Waiting is always a test for me. My hardest waiting season was going through 6 years of infertility. But through those years my faith grew stronger as I learned to trust God no matter what. God bless you!

  • What a beautiful reminder. It feels like I’m always waiting for something, but God’s timing is perfect.

  • I am in the waiting room…and have been for quite some time. Waiting. Waiting on the Lord to show me what to do…and to show my husband his next step. It’s difficult to wait. But in that time, I can see blessings….ones we wouldn’t have seen or experienced had we NOT had this waiting season. It’s hard, but I’m trying to focus on the good–the future–His answers and direction, because I know eventually they will come!

  • I don’t enjoy waiting either, but the older I get, the more I see the benefits that God can bring through it. Thanks for sharing these encouraging words, Ifeoma. I’m glad we’re not fruit too!

Thank you for reminding us of those great verses from Hebrews 10. It does seem that God brings us back to waiting times over and over again (at least for me!) I am so thankful that when I look back, I can see how He was so faithful, and He will be faithful again, even in a waiting time when the whole season shifts. Blessings to you, dear Ifeoma!

  • Thanks for linking up at #PorchStories.

  • Fruit in the fruit market! What a great metaphor, and thanks for words of hope!

  • So glad He’s present in the waiting. Waiting room times aren’t easy, but so thankful He is at work – making ready His plans for us, and us for them. Good reminders this morning, Ifeoma, thank you. 🙂 ((hug))
