Hope For The Woman In The Shadows

I was ready to meet her. My contact had stringed everything together.

We had to be discreet.

We took all necessary measures to protect her identity when suddenly she withdrew.

She declined our offer to help.

For the name, the shame, the present, the past, she turned us down.

When a well-known ‘Call Girl’ made the decision to follow the God of Israel, make no mistake it was a Hard Choice.

Let us not think for once think it an easy thing for an unwanted woman to choose God above all else.

It takes a Brave heart to let go, risk everything and take that wild chance at God.

I sat in my room not thinking I had failed to rescue.

No, not at all but I reminisced on Rahab.

Bible Reading: Joshua 2:1-14

I appreciate her more.

That failed attempt taught me how difficult to break off the chains of the past.

It is not possible to break off the stronghold of sin without the help of our Lord.

The girl no one wants knows the shame.

She hides behind the shadows away from the looks and glaring eyes.

She understands the pain of rejection.

She many times struggles with the fear.

The fear of the unkonwn cripples her.

Fear of what will become of her if she left her trade.

She is scared people identify with her past.

She’s afraid her name would remain the unwanted.

She wants to remain in the shadows.

The Light shines brightly and calls you who hides behind the shadows.

The Light draws you near.

Jesus is the Light, don’t hide away from Him.

Never lightly esteem the woman who has been there and is come clean for the sake of Christ.

I find her a woman filled with plenty life lessons.

I see her as a symbol of hope for all who want to give in to the enemy.

For every woman who in held in the needless guilt of the past and maybe present, know that whoever turns to Christ, the veil is taken away.

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 2 Corinthians 3:14

Amen!

The veil of shame, past, labels, blindness of sin, bondage and addictions whatever veil that keeps her from coming to the light is taken away.

That is what the Lord does.

That is what Jesus wants to do for you who feels unwanted.

In Jesus there is no shame, no pain no past only Newness of life.

I want that for you, my friend.

Jesus has paid the price for your shame.

He laid down His life for you to have yours (John 15:13)

He wants to exchange that shame for glory.

He wants to give you a New Life

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

There is hope for you, gal.

My prayer for you:

Dear Lord, I pray for every woman who is embattled with her past and her present. I pray for her that you give her the courage to embrace your love. Open her eyes to see the power of your forgiveness and the gift of salvation in Jesus name. As she turns to you, dear Jesus take away the veil of shame and rejection and let her wear the garment of honour in Jesus name. Amen

    Ifeoma,

Praise God that He redeems us from our past. Praise God that He heals up the brokenhearted and comforts those who are in need of mercy and hope. I love this series you are sharing.
    Bless you!
    Dawn

  • We’ve all been in the shadows in one way or another and we desperately need this hope. Thank you, Ifeoma!
I’m sharing this on my SunSparkleShine Facebook page today.
    Wishing you blessings!

  • Oooooh Ifeoma!!!! This is so, so good. I love this fierce hope series you are doing ! It is so important. I love that you didn’t sit, dwell on, or think you had failed, but you pondered instead on how hard it must be for her. You chose instead to lean into the heart of the Father and purpose to understand how hard it is to break free. As I read this, it is as if God is showing you his heart for those trapped by the past, shame, rejection so that you can minister more effectively to them than you already are. What an awesome gift God is giving you! Blessings to you.

I so appreciate your linking up with me at #TuneInThursday and I look forward to having you join me in the weeks ahead!

  • Thank you for sharing your post at Literacy Musing Mondays. Blessings, and hope to see you again next week!

Thank you for linking up with Woman to Woman's Word Filled Wednesday. God bless.

  • I love Rahab’s story and it’s a great reminder not to judge where God is working- it’s often in people we might not expect.

Praise God for giving us another chance and for making us new creations!
A New Life! How amazing is that!!
I pray for this young lady that she will continue to consider her need for God and will have the courage to come to Him for new life.

  • I love Hazel’s comment: God honors our availability. When we bring that gift to Him, just like the loaves and fish, he multiplies the impact and usefulness!

  • Satan has all kinds of traps to snare the individual. Support groups abound to help those bound to break free. Only Jesus can set those Free that find themselves in bondage to what ever holds them. Thank you for sharing this lovely post. You did not fail because you and Jesus are available – and the choice is up to the individual.

  • Dear Ifeoma,
These are such beautiful words. My heart is moved with compassion just as you said, “I appreciate her more.” As I pray for dear ones who have been in dark places in their past, these words today bring such an encouragement!

    • Dear Bettie, it thought me the powerful miracle in turning the back to the world and facing the cross. I’m happy we made that choice to follow Christ.
Hugs Bettie and thanks for taking time to visit
