Bible Readings: Luke 8:1-3, Mark 16:1-9, Mark 12: 42-44
Whenever someone encounters Jesus, they never remain the same.
Everything changes within and around them.
In An Invitation to Speak, we discussed how the woman at the well was overtaken by joy of the GoodNews.
Joy that overwhelmed her
Joy that had to be shared.
Joy that was contagious enough to draw a whole city to Jesus.
When you truly open your heart to let Jesus in, He never leaves you the same.
Amen.
In Luke 8:1-3, these women had encountered Jesus.
He had touched their lives.
Jesus had healed some.
Some He delivered and others He restored.
These women were from all works of life.
The touch of Jesus had created a connection.
Their hearts were weaved together
They were knit closely by His love.
They ministered to Jesus of their substance.
Ponder On This: Who asked them to draw near?
In fact they were not together for a short while, they were there with Jesus at the cross (Matthew 27:55-56)
The women went to His grave side.
They went to anoint Him.
They went to serve even at the grave.
Thank God, they found Him not. He had risen.
They were deeply in love with Jesus.
That love provoked their hearts to service and ministry.
So much so that Jesus first appeared to one of the women at His resurrection.
He appeared to Mary Magdalene from whom He had cast out seven demons (Mark 16:1-9)
You cannot say you love the Lord deeply
and not seek to serve Him.
Do you love Jesus?
Do you truly love the Lord?
If you love the Lord you will seek Him and not your own (1 Corinthians 13:5)
These women showed service and ministry borne from a heart of love.
True ministry is about serving the Lord Jesus and ministering to the saints.
The Lord is faithful to reward those who serve in His presence (Mark 9:41)
You may say,
What is my substance?
With what do I use to serve?
How can you minister unto the Lord?
Study the poor widow in Mark 12:42-4
What you notice about her giving?
You serve the Lord with your all.
The widow gave all her living.
The two mites was all this woman had, yet she surrendered it to the Lord.
She did not hold some of it back like some of us would.
She did not try to impress people.
She gave from her heart.
See also the alabaster woman in Mark 14:3,
What do you notice about her ministering to Jesus?
She cared less of what people thought of her service.
She gave a costly gift.
She gave wholeheartedly.
Quick Thoughts: Your gift may not be as expensive as the woman with the alabaster box or you may not even have two mites to offer to the Lord, your heart to draw near to Him is what counts.
Do you remember the House of Stephanas? (1 Corinthians 16:15)
A Quick Video on the House of Stephanas
They ministered to the saints.
Because they knew they were not doing it for the sake of doing good alone, they were doing it as unto the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men Colossians3:23
Not just that, they were addicted to it that means they were commited to it.
They made it a lifestyle!
Now you have been touched by the Lord.
You have been redeemed, restored and delivered.
Continue in His presence
Continue ministering in His presence.
Serve the Lord wholeheartedly.
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25: 34-40

Prayers
Dear Jesus, thank you so much for the opportunity to serve and minister in your presence. I love you deeply and I give you ‘my all’, regardless of what others think, I am yours, Lord. Help me to yield fully especially in the areas my heart struggles in Jesus name.
