What if you were told you had 30 minutes to escape for your life?
I’m sure that would be your most scary moment!
The rules were clearly stated…
Escape to the Mountain and don’t look back!
For some reason you were the only one chosen. You and your own. Trading a conversation would be the last thing on your mind. Perhaps, how do I get to the mountain would fit at this time…don’t you think?
This was a vivid capture of Lot’s last minutes in Sodom.
God had intervened for the sake of the prayers of Abraham. All Lot had to do was obey.
Obedience is powerful key for deliverance. See The Danger of Partial Obedience
Friends, like in the days of Lot, we are at the last minutes to the end.
In case you don’t know, the rules are still the same!
Lot and his family broke the instructions…
His wife looked back.
But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Genesis 19:26
Remember what Jesus says about looking back to the world and everything we left behind for His sake?
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
And for Lot? He chose His Will over God’s instruction. For the girls? They have seen their parents fail. They were too weak to stand. They too failed and even sinned against God.
If we are to escape we do it the Lord’s way.
We go to the mountain and we don’t look back.
We obey His Word. We go with it.
Our way of escape is through the salvation Jesus has given us.
Forget everything else it is the Only way.
Jesus is the only way we can escape these things.
Questions and excuses are only recipes for disasters.
Recall, we said Mount Zion the Holy mountain of the Lord.
Where there is our deliverance and Holiness and where we possess our possessions.
That’s where safety is guaranteed. Not merely saving your life but saving it from contamination as well.
We have stayed too long on this valley. We need to go up to the Mountain before it’s too late.
3 Keys To The Mountain
Obedience: The same way the Israelites needed to escape from Egypt God, Moses was the instrument to lead them out to the mountain where they would serve the Lord.
And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. Exodus 3:12
Moses obeyed the Lord. He revered Him so much.
But when Moses decided to strike the rock instead of speaking to it, it cost him Canaan.
For those who walk closely with the Lord know obedience is the key for an effective ministry. Exodus 15:17
Holiness: Every time the children of Israel would draw near to the mountain of the Lord, they washed themselves and prepared their hearts to come near.
That implies sanctifying ourselves, purging our hearts from sin and wholly seeking the Lord.
Although, the children of Israel understood not the mystery behind the mountain, they thought to be mischief. Exodus 32:12
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
Exodus 19: 10-11
The Word: How can we get to the Mountain? What do we do there? All these questions are rooted in the Word.Â
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psalm 119:9-11
We know we can escape all these by giving heed to the Word. In the scriptures are nuggets of wisdom to guide us through our pilgrimage here.

Prayer for Today:
Lord Jesus, thank you for being my savior. You are the only way out of this messy world. Dear Lord, cause my soul to escape all the evil set to ravage this world. Let me see you in the beauty of your Holiness. Of what use is all the worldly goods if my soul escape not hell? Dear Lord in you is my salvation, save me oh Lord and let me dwell in your presence forever in Jesus name, Amen
