Our Stories Matter!

As we stepped up to the school entrance, a warm, welcoming smile awaited us. “Hi, how are you doing?” I said to my friend.

“I am great, just thought I should let you know my mum took your book and refused to drop it ever since!” she responded.

“Ok, that’s wonderful to hear. I’m so glad she enjoys it”. She doesn’t just read it; she pours over every page, journal and pen in hand, ready to capture every thought.

That’s great!

Little did I know, this conversation happened just three weeks before her mum passed away.

My friend’s mum had a terminal thyroid disease. “My 30 Day Journey To a Fulfilled Life” was the last book she held in her hands.

A wave of shock washed over me.

Dear Lord, I hope she read it all?

I hope she got to the last few chapters?

I hope she reconciled with you, our Maker?

Truthfully, worry gnawed at my heart.

Relief only came when my friend shared just how much the book had meant to her mom.

In the last few chapters of that book, I wrote about living every day as if it was our last. I spoke about being heaven-ready at all times!

Her passing brought a new, sobering message home to me.

Your words could be the very last thing someone hears or reads.

♠ I became more thoughtful and deliberate with every word I wrote and shared!

♠ It helped me see the importance of nurturing the patch of garden God has entrusted to me, both in this small online space and in every corner of my offline life.

♠ It calls me to hold myself accountable, writing as He guides, whether for those who linger and savour each word or for those who simply pass through.

♠It gives me a vivid picture of what God meant here in 1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31

Now, both that Little Book and this Other Book exist for one purpose: to bring glory to God.

If God is not glorified, then the whole purpose is lost.

In those moments when you feel your story is insignificant, remember: God sees every step you take for the gospel as deeply meaningful.

Your story matters, friend!

The way you say it.

What you think about your life journey,

Everything in between really matters.

Your story counts.

Someone out there is watching, listening, and quietly following in your footsteps.

Let them see the Light in your life.

Let them see Hope in your story.

Let them see Jesus through and through

Every part of your life story matters, from the ordinary and painful to the moments of bliss, laughter, and cherished memories. Like the colours of a rainbow, each shade blends together to create a breathtaking, heartwarming story—Ifeoma Samuel #OvercomeFailure.

In the first chapter of “Overcome Failure,” I write about the value of storytelling. Whether it is yours or mine, it matters.

God showed me daily how weighty the words He gives us are.

Gal, God’s words, impressed upon our hearts, can save a soul, transform another, and bring hope to yet another.

We dare not underestimate the value of the story He makes out of our lives.

Ifeoma Samuel,
