Mummy, am I growing every day?
Yes, you are! But why do you ask? I found myself curious about what sparked this question.
“Mummy, I want to be big like you.”
That question truly took me by surprise!
This is one of those kitchen conversations every mom knows by heart.
In her innocent heart, she believes that being as ‘big’ as I am is all it
takes to be a grown up.
I couldn’t help but smile as I gazed down at her wide, sparkling eyes, so eager to
grasp the words I would say next.
The word ‘big’ brought to mind all the pressures of adulthood, from chasing bucket
lists to juggling goals and the expectations that come with wearing so many hats.
‘big.’ Who could have guessed that growing up would feel like this?
Here are a few life lessons I hope my daughter, and other
little girls like her, will carry with them before they reach their thirties. I hope your
girls find encouragement in these important lessons for life.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get
wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. ~ Proverbs 4:7
1. Regardless of where you are, life is more
than you know. You will never know it all. Keep learning.
2. God is greater than all our experiences put
together. Come what may, He is always dependable.
3. Give yourself the gift of a smile each day.
4. Take even the most ridiculous things to
prayer. In essence, pray much more than you complain.
5. Every day furnishes us another chance to
“Try, Thrive and Triumph” where we have failed.
