Miracles fill me with awe and wonder!
Anyone who has savoured God’s goodness knows His miracles overflow in every corner of life.
Compassion flows endlessly from Jesus.
As He walked through the town and heard the widow’s anguished cry, His heart overflowed with compassion.
This grieving widow had lost the one treasure her heart clung to.
Her tears ran deep, echoing her sorrow.
Her longing ached within her, sharp and unrelenting.
Yet on that day, the Lord Himself walked through her town.
The crowd wept alongside her, but only Christ truly felt the depth of her pain.
A miracle was the last thing she expected.
She never imagined the Lord would pass by; if she had known, perhaps she would have welcomed Him in.
She did not expect Him to pause for her sorrow, especially since no one had told Him her story.
Perhaps the widow had surrendered to a life shadowed by grief and endless mourning.
She walked to her son’s burial expecting nothing but more sorrow.
Her son was gone. That was her only reality.
But then God intervened.
Moved by compassion, Jesus stopped, approached the casket, and returned her son alive.
Maybe your situation feels utterly hopeless.
Maybe it has been pronounced dead and buried,
Maybe, like the widow, you are surrounded by comforters who cannot reach your deepest pain.
I am here to tell you: Jesus is passing by. Amen.
Right now, as you read these words, He is passing by you.
Yes, you!
If He could do this for a widow who never even called out to Him, He will do it for you by His mercy.
His compassion sought her out and found her.
His healing wings brushed over the widow’s son.
Grace settled gently over that home.
Sorrow’s tears transformed into tears of joy.
Such transformation happens only when Jesus steps in.
Praise God!
As I wrote these words, a smile spread across my face, longing for this miracle of grace and compassion.
I want it for you, the one who feels all hope is lost.
I want it for you, who wonders if miracles still happen.
I want it for you, if you are facing any form of deadness in your life.
Jesus is the
Life giver
Miracle worker
Compassionate friend
Joy of the living
One who turns tears of sorrow to tears of joy
Comforter
The turnaround of dead situations
The deliverer of good news
He will pause for your sake.
He will work that miracle.
He will bring a living, breathing miracle into your life.
I pray for anyone whose situation has been written off, that Jesus will step in and bring resurrection in His name.
I can only imagine how overwhelmed that widow must have felt as Jesus placed her living son in her arms. Rejoicing hardly captures it.
I invite you to embrace this invitation.
