Her words crashed into me, sharp and unforgiving: ‘You are nobody, and nobody knows you’. My hand froze around the phone, numb with shock. Each syllable struck like a venom-tipped dart, leaving no room for mercy. When she hung up, a chill crept down my spine, the poison settling in.
Life is a battlefield of words. The ones you accept take root; the ones you reject lose their power.

She had filled my ears with lies, weaving them in whispers. But…
Then I spoke…
‘I am Somebody’
‘God knows me’
That is what truly matters. Case closed.
That is what happens when the enemy slips into your thoughts; he sows lies and tends them until they grow. The publishing agent tried hard to win me over, but friend, she chose the worst way!
During our talk, she claimed she was concerned. Concerned? Really! What a strange way to show it. Many people underestimate the power of their words. We can offer grace to those who wound us, remembering that they are giving the best they know how. If they had better, they would offer it.
The worst thing you can do is hand your dreams to someone who doubts you and acts like they are doing you a favour. So I am moving on.
What do you do when you have the harshest of words whispered to you?
What do you do when the enemy spins lies?
Don’t let the enemy box you into a corner.
That’s what he did with Eve. He made her see no better option than eating the ‘forbidden fruit’. Genesis 3:4-5 “You shall be as gods”…as if God was keeping something away from Eve!
Whatever is contrary to what God has said is a lie.
Discard it and move on. When you begin to pay courtesy to the enemy’s lie, you give him a foothold in your life. Titus 1:1-2 and Hebrews 6:18
Speak God’s Word over that situation. Many of us are scared to speak. We are afraid our words would fall to the ground. The Word of God never falls to the ground. You make it of no effect when you don’t believe it. Let the faith in your heart push you to decree over that circumstance.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23
Hold tight to God’s promises and obey Him. Like the three Hebrew boys, refuse to bow to the idols that challenge you. When you cling to Him with all your heart, God will show up for you. The world is full of idols trying to pull you away from His kingdom. Stand tall—do not bow.
Honestly, I have watched countless No’s transform into resounding Yeses in the most unexpected ways. When that big door finally opens, it devours every ‘No’ you have ever heard.
Are you with me?
Did someone ever say to you, ‘You are nobody’?
Those harsh words from the publisher could have ended my dream of writing. Instead, they sparked a fire in me. Now, I am more determined than ever to chase my dreams.
Yes!
If you are reading this after hearing a resounding No, do not give up. This is your moment to revise your plans, invest in yourself, and keep growing.
This message is for you, the one who feels unwanted. It is for you who has heard, time and again, that ‘you are nobody’…
You are chosen (1 Peter 2:9)
You are loved (Jeremiah 31:3)
You are seen (Psalm 34:15)
Do not rob yourself by surrendering to those harsh, negative words.
Refuse to sell yourself short by accepting these words. God’s work in you has only just begun.
