Surviving a near-miss with rabies inspired me to offer free vaccinations in rural communities. As fate would have it, a group of young evangelists happened to be nearby, and I eagerly joined their mission!
With the Bible in one hand and my vaccination kit in the other, I set out on a journey that transformed me. Even now, evangelism remains close to my heart, and I deeply admire those who bravely venture beyond their comfort zones. This mini-series shines a light on the often-overlooked sides of evangelism.

Whenever I share my field stories and testimonies with my teens, their eyes light up with fascination. It fills me with joy to pass on these memories. Maybe one day, they too will answer the call.
Every one of us, as Christians, has the powerful mandate to let someone out there know about Jesus. That’s the core fibre of evangelism. Although some have the gift, everyone has it as a mission!
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”. Amen

You may not stand as a rural evangelist or appear on a grand stage, but right where you are—in your community, your workplace, your circle of influence—you can touch lives for Christ.
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and
he that winneth souls is wise”.
Proverbs 11:30

Yes!
I marvel at how God partners with us, especially when we feel least qualified for the task. It always brings a smile to my face.
He lifts us from the dust, brushes us off, and sets us on our mission.
If you ever feel small or insignificant, remember that God delights in using ‘the little people’ too.
Remember, the Samaritan woman at the well?
I do wonder why Jesus would choose her, whom we call unworthy, as the mouthpiece of His Kingdom. But this most unqualified was the tool He needed. She reached her whole community for Christ after one encounter. John 4:39
I once believed soul winning was only about those who were saved, thinking it was their lives that changed.
But here is a lesson that surprised me
The Good News changes ‘the messenger’ and ‘the messaged’.
And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of
peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:15
Evangelism has shaped me in countless ways. Here are just a few:
–>You witness the breathtaking power of the gospel. Stories of healing, transformation, and salvation pour in, each one overwhelming in its beauty. The Lord reaches hearts of all ages, letting them feel the depth of His love.
–>You become more compassionate. My heart grew tender, not just from emotion, but from a deep empathy for those trapped by the enemy. Their struggles stir a holy dissatisfaction in you, fueling your prayers and igniting a yearning to help—even when it feels daunting.
–>You learn never to take for granted your salvation.
That is a precious lesson I carried home. Salvation is a treasure to be cherished, a gift not everyone has received. It brings freedom from the chains of the world and its systems.
Not everyone has embraced this gift, even when the opportunity is there. Yet we have been given the grace to share in God’s Kingdom. Let us never take that for granted.
–> Whatever you have in hand becomes a tool for the mission.
I never say I don’t have anything to use anymore.
God can use your career, your gifts, or talents—no matter how big or small—to accomplish His work.
Never despise that gift in your hand.
If you can sew, use that gift. Remember Dorcas? If you can cook, let that be your ministry. Each of us has a unique place and purpose in the kingdom.
