Some of life’s most defining moments are those brimming with excitement, as we eagerly turn the page to a brand new season.
We step forward, hearts full of grace and hope, carrying our expectations like precious treasures.
In these moments, we paint a vivid picture of our dreams for the next season and hang it proudly on the wall of our hearts.
We hope everything will flow effortlessly, but then we stumble over a snag called disappointment. Sometimes, one follows another until discouragement settles in.
Often, we dive into the next phase of life, eager to ride the waves as before, not realising these waves might be unfamiliar and unpredictable.
Trying to surf these new waves the same way as before leaves us floundering, because this journey is different.
No two phases in life are the same.
Not even for familiar circumstances!
Discouragement wears many faces and can visit us at any stage of life.
Maybe you have reached a crossroads and have to decide whether to move forward.
Maybe things aren’t going as your heart had longed for.
Are you discouraged at the recent turn of events?
I know how hard it can be to pray when you reach this crossroad.
Whether we are surrounded by a dozen life snaps,
Or past wounds that don’t want to go away,
Or a pain that reminds us of our fragility,
Or you sit in the waiting room of life
Or you have imprints from scars that can’t be hidden,
Even in the midst of discouragement, hope quietly waits for you.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,
that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10
Hope lives in Christ Jesus. Every part of the gospel gently reminds us that, no matter our season, we have unshakable hope in Him.
This hope stands firm, unshaken by anything the world may send our way.
It is the ultimate hope found in Christ, received by His grace and made powerful through the mighty Name of Jesus.
Every challenge we face gently nudges us closer to His perfect plan.
When I find myself at a desperate crossroads, I long to hide away. But then I remember my true refuge is found in the Name of the Lord.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10
Sometimes these disappointments make you feel like you have failed. In my New Book “Overcome Failure; Get Back On Your Feet“, I share more about how to overcome these lies and build trust. As you quietly sit or rest on your couch, maybe with a warm cup of coffee in hand, take a deep breath and pour out your heart in prayer. heart.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I am thankful for the power in the name of Jesus. I am grateful that you are my safety at this time. You are my help, my shield, and my hope. Nothing will ever take me away from your secret place nor sweep me from your loving arms in Jesus Name. Refresh my heart, dear Lord, with your peace and restore, revive and replenish my confidence in you through your Word in Jesus Name. I overcome every discouragement I face in Jesus name. Amen
