“But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law
of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me
from the body of this death?”
Romans 7:23- 24
I watched as the helpless fly struggled with all its might to break free from the spider’s web. Each frantic flap of its wings only drew it deeper into the sticky trap.
The harder the fly fought for freedom, the tighter the web seemed to hold it captive.
Not only did the sticky strings rope it round, but the movement around the web also caught the attention of the spider. The little spider spun more and more around the fly, relentless in keeping her prey.
Heartbreaking, isn’t it?
Watching this scene, my mind wandered to how life can sometimes become tangled and chaotic, just like that web.
Imagine the web as sin, pain, failures, sickness, bondage, or worldliness. We sometimes stumble right into this destructive snare.
And just like the fly, we find ourselves trapped, unable to move forward.
We don’t just struggle; we wrestle fiercely to break free, desperately trying to hold pieces of our lives together.
The more we try to pull ourselves loose, the more tangled and hopeless things become, because the enemy keeps us bound, holding us back and imprisoned.
When we think we can rescue ourselves, we become more entangled by this bondage.
Here’s the truth: We are helpless to save ourselves. Only Jesus can rescue us.
Perhaps if the fly had stayed focused, it might have avoided the trap. We may never know. The snares of sin and bondage surround us, but when we fix our eyes on Jesus, we find a way out. The enemy may attack, but in Jesus we are shielded and victorious.
Read Ephesians 6
As the fly struggled to breathe, it caught the attention of the wrong entity, the enemy itself.
When you leave God out of your battles, you invite the wrong influences into your life.
Does sin entangle you?
And like the little fly, are you struggling to break free from the bondage and chains?
Like the Apostle Paul yearned,
“Who shall deliver me
from this body of death?”
Romans 7:24
Let me introduce you to “the Master Disentangler”. His name is Jesus.
The only way to disentangle is through Jesus. He alone can set us free from the web the enemy has spun around us.
Dear friend, Jesus is right here for you.
He is ready to free you from the sticky, suffocating grip of sin.
He longs to break the yoke of sin and addiction that weighs you down.
Does He know what I am going through?
Does Jesus know my constant struggle with addiction and sin?
Oh yes, yes, yes!!
The Lord knows who you are and what your life is like right now. He is calling you. Come, lay your burdens at His feet and surrender all to Him.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
Remember the fly: when we stop trying to fix this or that and ask for His help, that’s when our deliverance begins.
Even when the enemy schemes against us, God is working behind the scenes.
Plans to shove us into a corner and keep us locked in, the Lord of Hosts is
our mighty Deliverer, strong and faithful.
“The name of the LORD is
a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”.
Proverbs 18:10
Come to Jesus, dear friend. He is the truth that sets you free. When He works on your life, His freedom is sure. Don’t let sin or the cares of this world steal away your freedom in Christ.

John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
John 8:36 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”.
Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”.
There is unmatched power in the name of Jesus.
In the name of Jesus, chains and yokes are broken. In the name of Jesus, every
stronghold over your life is destroyed. Amen!
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I thank you for showing me
that you alone can set me free. Break every chain keeping my life entangled.
Set me free, Lord, from the web of sin, addictions, failures and whatever is in
my way of enjoying your freedom and peace in Jesus name.
