War Room: 7 Powerful Parenting Prayers For Every Mom

It did not take long for me to realize I was too hard on my parenting. On a close examination, worldly wisdom was sipping through my parenting. Many moms would agree with me when something is out of place in your parenting, even your kids know it too!

Sometimes our parenting strategies breeds rebellion instead of obedience and love. We become robotic, unloving, uncompassionate and sometimes stubborn as parents. Ephesians 6:4.

Bible Reading: Judges 13:1-25

God had come to Manoah’s wife the first time. The instruction had been given.

But something in Manoah yearned for more. His wife had been barren all her life and now a testimony was to be borne through her.

Then he began to pray for a second Divine visitation.

Ponder on this: What did they need a second visit for?

Lord, Teach Us!

Some of us have missed God! He has turned a corner and we are still left in the drive way.

Like that humble man in the field, let us cry out for a divine visit. Let us ask the Lord the show us and teach us. Let’s be hungry anew for His visitation.

That One man’s thirst for something deeper.

When Last Did You Long For More?

He challenged my parenting.

Do we seek God earnestly in terms of our parenting? I mean seeking God in entirety. Going beyond asking for blessings for our children. Praying God to teach our hearts to parent each child like He would want us.

Do you see the answer to this question, ‘How Do I raise the Child’?

It starts with saying Lord, Teach me to raise _______, __________, ________(insert the names of your kids).

That mom (Manoah’s wife) understood that her child can only be brought up with God’s Help and divine wisdom. She had a gift from God, a deliverer of Israel was there in her womb.

Dear Beloved of the Lord, you have in your home, Kings and Queens who should be ready to take their place in life. It is our role as moms to prepare them.

Until we understand that the children God has placed in our lives are not burdens but gifts we are likely going to trample on them.

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:3-5

Why Every Mom Needs a Place of Prayer?

Prayer is powerful communication between man and his maker. Many issues we face in life can be resolved in the place of prayer. But more often than not we find ourselves complaining more than we pray.

Do you see what Manoah is teaching us today?

Do you see some flaws we have? Yes, I do have them too.

We talk more about our children not being enough rather than talk to the One who owns them. We obsess about our plans for them rather than seek God’s Will concerning their lives.

Manoah prayed for their parenting. He asked God to teach him and his wife how to raise the child.

In our Prayer Closet, we address the needs, get instruction and guidance for every child in our home or custody.

Prayer helps us get clarification. There are lots of distractions including our past, our personal weaknesses, and worldly jargons etc. that impact our choices in parenting. It helps to kneel in prayer.

Jesus Prayed and We should too. I love studying the ministry life of Jesus. It is a perfect model for every believer whether you are mom or not. Jesus always had a time to withdraw and pray. Read Matthew 6:36, Luke 5: 16

The enemy contends with our lives and those of those who are around us. But God says….

But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. Isaiah 49:25

So, Mom, you want to raise Godly Kids? Give them over to the Lord. Let the Lord guide them.

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13

Have a Place of Prayer and make it a priority. Look at the Virtuous Woman. We see a woman who also won in the Home front.

The Battle of the Home is won on the knees.

She was the midnight woman who kept her midnight oil burning.  She made it a priority to keep her candle on.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. Proverbs 31:18

Ponder a while: What do you think she was doing at night?

The Candle represents light. Our light is kept burning through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. Psalm 18:28

Keep your candle burning in the place of prayer.

Recall, Jesus did the midnight praying too?

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12

Perhaps, like most of us you struggle in terms of prayer? Not to worry we will do this together!
