A few years ago, my eye caught this scripture Proverbs 31:1. The King remembered the words his mother taught him. Those words were tucked away in his heart until he came to the throne. That mom made a difference!

I recall some part of a hymn that says ‘Bring Them In’. We have shared about sitting up as moms in the area of prayer, questions we should ask ourselves about raising Godly kids.
Bringing your kids in with the Word
I know we have heard it that teaching our kids the Bible is important and we should never joke about our home Bible Study. Dear Mom friend, you are a minister and should see yourself as that. And our ministry begins from our home.
Moms not only serve physical meals in the home, they serve up the spiritual meal too.
The quality of our dish depends on how much value we place on it.
If you want your kids to be nourished, then you need to be zest in delicately serving the Whole Meal of the Word and not crumbs.
Are you serving crumbs or the main meal to your children?
Every time we spend time studying the Word with our children, we are sowing seeds and watering them. The seed of the Word grows in their hearts. It gains root and prepares them for tomorrow.
Crumbs are fluffs. They don’t satisfy the hungry stomach. The main meal does it! Examine what spiritual meal your children are consuming.
Many moms like the phrase, ‘they are too young’ but I beg to differ! Do you notice how much time we spend pushing our kids through the doors of school and education but give little attention to spiritually building them?
Start Your Kids Early With The Word. It is the Word in their heart that will keep them for life and preserve them for eternity! Don’t be the mom who leaves it for the Sunday School teacher. Be the mom who is her kids first Bible Teacher! Take time to give them sound Bible teachings.
Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:13
They would not depart from it! See Esther or Daniel when faced with issues, the Word they knew kept them. That Word saved them. Recall, Esther made a unique impression on the King. Something about her was different.

God expects you to teach them diligently. How can they learn about God if they are not told?

If you don’t the world will. The company of fools will be destroyed. Remember that verse? The world is super ready to capture young minds. It is better to soak them up with the Word.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1 Corinthians 15:33
To Face the Storm. You’d agree with me our children would be men and women of their own. They won’t have us there forever. Yes, mom. You will not be there all the time. At some point your children would have to face life, confront challenges and overcome them! Arm them with God’s Word which is able to keep them all the way.
To guide their path. The Word of God is a guide, a lamp post, a light to every believer. Psalm 119:105
To Escape Deceit. Deception, lying wonders are the agenda of the enemy. Today, evils in the name of Christianity, pulpit lies, phony messages etc. abound to sway True believers. How can we escape except through knowing the Word. Colossians 2:8
Save their Soul. What joy it is to know that we and our homes are for the Lord. It is great joy not having any on the other side.
And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Jude 1:22-23
As a Children Sunday School teacher and mom just like you, I know Bible Study with kids can be a bit challenging. Finding Study methods and frequency of study, knowing where to start, drafting topics and especially getting age appropriate Bible resources to mention a few are challenges.

How To Create a Time- Schedule For Bible Study in the midst of your Busyness
In one moms meeting I had with a group of ladies, I showed them how you can kick off with a 10 minute Psalms Reading Plan for starters.
Pray,
Study,
Application,
Let it out in writing and prayer,
Memorize scripture
We did a quick 10 minute session and the women saw it was possible to study at least one verse of the Psalm chapter and glean from it.
Look at your schedule fit in a 10 minutes morning, during the day and night time. Can you take the first 30 minutes of waking hour? Carefully choose your less-distracted time.
Whatever you choose, commit to this for the next 7 Days.
If it doesn’t work well, re-allot the time frame and length for your study. And try this for the next couple of days.
6 Simple Methods for Bible Study With Kids
Devotional Based. Devotionals are a good if they are available, in-depth and interactive. It may be difficult getting a resource that works well for your toddlers. Susan Shipe’s 52 Commands of Jesus For Children Devotional is awesome.
I like this study because it is deep, not shallow or simply collection of stories as usual. Shipe’s Study, breaks each week’s devotion into at least 4 questions for reflections. Verse-Based Bible Study. You can use this for 4+ kids and combine with memorization of the verse.
Memorization. Works well with toddlers! Yes, sometimes with songs or read-after approach, memorization is a great way to engage little ones
Bible Stories and coloring pages. Especially useful for toddlers. I should emphasize to be successful at this, remember to share the stories before introducing the coloring pages thereby using them as a reinforcement for the study. The coloring can be used a reward for listening.
Chapter Readings. This works well for kids who know how to read already. You could do shorter chapters or longer verses that pertain to the theme of your Bible Study.
Journaling and Scripture Writing. This is especially useful for older kids. This encourages them to start studying on their own. This have come in handy with my teens as I encourage some scripture writing accompanied with specific questions on a chapter we are handling.
Notice I use 3-in-1 approach for my teens. It works well. Creating an interactive session around their tables.
Remember these are all suggestions. You can blend any of these methods until you find what suits you.
