How Proverbs 31 Woman Sets You free from Performance

For years many Christian women believe that Proverbs 31 is a checklist they can perform on their own. It is the Burden of performance that wearies many women.

As I had a chat with my new friend, Mari is the author of the New Bible Study Book “Proverbs 31 in 5 Minutes a Day“, I was encouraged by her enthusiasm to let more women know it is possible to live free in Christ.

Leaning on Proverbs 31:30 “The woman that fears the Lord” her discussion drove it home that a woman who lives in Christ is free from performance, struggles and burden. As we grow in Christ, He nourishes our heart and helps us be the Woman He made us to be.

Three things I enjoyed about the Book

It’s easy to read and understand.

—> Mari includes relevant life application devotionals without losing sight of the key verse.

—> She also connects several other scriptures to each daily reading.

—> At the end of each week, you have a reflection and easy collection of thoughts.

My Favourite Quote from Mari’s Book:

“Proverbs 31 is not a job description a checklist that earns you God’s approval, love, or salvation once you complete it. It is a passage that reminds us who we are in Him. Our Works, talents, successes, “good girl” status do not save us. Only by His great mercy and redeeming work of Jesus Christ are we saved. Proverbs 31 is about the woman you are, you can be in Christ and only in Christ”.
