Advent Day 6: Life-Giving Love

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1John 4:9

The grasses sprung up quickly. I pull them up and pile them in a corner. They began to dry up.  Unplugged from their life-giving place.

How does this describes us?

Apostle Paul rightly said, in Him we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28). Outside that we are nothing. It is not the wealth, cars, position, fame, children etc. that makes us.

We are lifeless without Christ.

God’s love is life-giving,

God’s love is life-restoring,

God’s love is life-producing.

It has everything to do with life.

There is no love in the world capable of giving eternal life, save God’s love.

God’s love gives life.

Family Activity: Consider a widow, or someone who has suffered a loss recently. Offer them a meal or a gift pack. Show them Jesus loves them too.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the love you have showered upon me. Thank you for the life you have given my soul.

  1. Dear Ifeoma,
Oh this is so solid and encouraging for me today, as I am praying for those I love: “There is no love in the world capable of giving eternal life, save God’s love.” HE brings us such amazing LIFE when we receive His Love! Thank you for these words today, just when I needed to hear them! xoxo
