Show Appreciation

On my last birthday, I had a surprise
birthday cake from my Sunday school kids. I really appreciated the fact that
they took out time, money and effort to appreciate their teacher.
I got a lovely bag from a mother whose
son had been in my class for over a year. She told me how his life had been
positively influenced. As I listened to her, I was filled with so much joy and
gratitude to God who had made it possible for me to be a channel of blessing in
His hands.
–Say
“thank you”–
 As
a Sunday school teacher, nothing gives more joy than having good reports
about my Sunday school kids from their parents. It makes your teaching
worthwhile and gives you encouragement.
It is easier
to ask for help from people than saying thank you to them
.
Many times we fail to appreciate the
people God has placed in our lives. It is easier to castigate others when they
are in the wrong than compliment them for the good they do.
–Say
“thank you”–
As Parents, we need to teach our kids
appreciation by giving compliments to our kids when they do what is right. Do
less criticism.
I
can’t help but notice how some adults delight in taking fault-finding- missions
for others. Such people will do same to their kids. They will talk their kids
down and never say anything good about them. Eventually, kids from such homes
will grow up being over-critical of others and also may live with
self-condemnation.
–Say
“thank you”–
 If
you want to be appreciated, give appreciation.  Children from homes where
they are given kind words are self-confident and always joyful.
You do well when you say thank you to
someone for what they have done. Don’t treat others like they owe you;
appreciate even the very least thing done for you.
And
it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of
Samaria and Galilee.   And as he entered into a certain village,
there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:   And
they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on
us.   And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves
unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were
cleansed.   And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned
back, and with a loud voice glorified God,  And fell down on his face at
his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.   And Jesus
answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the
nine?   There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save
this stranger.  And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath
made thee whole.
Luke
17:11-19
When you lack gratitude in your life
you will also treat God in the same way. Jesus also wondered why it was only
the foreigner who came to give thanks. The others had simply forgotten or over
excited or thought it was their right to get healed.
God
deserves our thanks so do people deserve our thanks.
–Say
“thank you”–
Prayer: Dear Lord, give me a thankful heart in Jesus
Name.
Activity: Make a thank
you list
of people whom you have failed to appreciate in time past.
This list can include your spouse, your
kids, friends etc. Send out thank you messages or give out something special.
It could just bless someone’s day.
In the spirit of appreciation you can

God Bless.
